Representatives of the global leather industry will gather in Hong Kong from 19 to 21 March. APLF Leather & Materials is returning home after being held in Dubai for the past two years, worldfootwear.com writes.
More than 20 global leather associations are expected to attend the Hong Kong Leather Show, with more than 800 companies exhibiting. This scale of event marks the return of the exhibition to its native Hong Kong, where it was not held for two years during the COVID-19 pandemic, and then was held in Dubai for two years in a row.
From 19 to 21 March, visitors will be able to attend three combined events at the Hong Kong Expo Centre: APLF Leather & Materials+ and Fashion Access.
After the return of the exhibition to its native harbor, all attention will be focused on buyers from the Asia-Pacific region and China.
Another highlight will be the 4th Global Footwear Executive Summit, which will bring together experts and decision-makers from various segments of the footwear industry on the afternoon of March 20th. The main topics of the summit will be the development of innovations in footwear production, materials, and brand strategy.
The first session of the summit, which will focus on exploring solutions for the “current scenario where the demand for footwear is significantly lower than the available supply,” will be moderated by William Hong, representative of the Hong Kong Footwear Association with the participation of Benjamin I, partner of Materialize China, Lazaro Rogerio da Silva, director of footwear design at Gap, and Rosie Wang, footwear category director at Gemo Buying Office.
