15 new shopping centers in 15 cities - 3Q results

Over the three quarters of 2013, 30 new high-quality shopping complexes were opened in 22 cities of Russia. In total, 787 thousand square meters out of more than 3 million square meters declared for commissioning at the beginning of the year were put into operation.

In the third quarter, 15 new shopping centers were opened in Russia with a total rentable area of ​​290 sq.m. The largest of them are located in St. Petersburg (Pearl Plaza, GLA 000 sq.m), Syktyvkar (June, GLA 48 sq.m) and Surgut (Agora, GLA 000 sq.m). In the 30rd quarter, one new shopping center Raikin Plaza (GLA 000 29 sq.m) was opened in Moscow.

According to Cushman & Wakefield analysts, by the end of the year Russia plans to open at least 20 new shopping centers, of which no more than 5 in Moscow. There are fears that the opening of some of these centers may be delayed, and their potential launch will be postponed to the first half 2014 year.

In Russia as a whole, the volumes of new construction of retail space are as high as in the previous year. During the three quarters of 2012, new shopping centers appeared in 2013 Russian cities. Basically, freestanding shopping centers are being built (22% of all new high-quality retail space), and retail space is being opened in large multifunctional complexes.

About 250 square meters of new high-quality areas are commissioned quarterly in Russia. In the third quarter, 000 new shopping centers were put into operation with a total trading area of ​​15 sq.m. The geography of the new construction is from Irkutsk and Angarsk to Sochi. Unlike the regions of Russia, in Moscow new high-quality retail space is offered in different formats - shopping and entertainment centers (Rio, Raikin-plaza), outlet centers (Vnukovo and Fashion House), multifunctional complexes (White Square, Evolution). By the end of 2013, in the Moscow region (Pavlovsky Posad), it is planned to open a retail park of Bella Vita park (GLA 36000 sq.m).
