The next UITIC Congress, the first since the 20th edition held in Portugal in 2018, will take place in September 2023 in Milan and Vigevano. This will mean the return of the event to Italy, where it was last held in 1999, writes Worldfootwear.com.
The partnership between the National Association of Italian Footwear, Leather Goods and Leather Technologies (ASSOMAC) and the International Union of Footwear Specialists (UITIC) was announced at a recent joint press conference of the two organizations in Milan.
“UITIC members are delighted to join forces with such a prestigious Italian partner as ASSOMAC to organize the 21st UITIC International Shoe Congress,” said UITIC President Yves Morin at a press conference. - We always choose the best partner to organize our congresses, in 2013 in China it was CLIA (Chinese Leather Industry Association), in 2016 in India it was CLE (Leather Export Council) in 2018 in Portugal it was APPICAPS (Portuguese Footwear Association and leather products).
This 21st Congress will also mark an important milestone: the 50th anniversary of UITIC.
Sergio Dulio, member of the UITIC Executive Committee and member of the ITA UITIC working group, presented a proposal for the program of the next UITIC Congress: “At UITIC 2023, we want to present to the footwear world all the most important technological developments and trends that can affect the way footwear is designed and produced. We have prepared a conference program that covers all relevant topics, from sustainability to digital transformation, logistics and supply chains, with a special focus on the human capital of tomorrow…”
One of the first announced events of the Congress concerns the joint participation of organizations in the international exhibition Simac Tanning Tech, which will be held from September 20 to 22 in Fiera Milano Rho.
