The Uzbekcharmpoyabzali Association, which unites Uzbek enterprises in the leather and footwear industries, plans to open 12 new trading houses abroad this year. Moscow will become the leader in this direction, where five objects will appear at once. Three trading houses will begin work in the third quarter of 2016, with two of them specializing in the sale of shoes, and the third will become a mega-exhibition center for leather and footwear products of Uzbek manufacturers. At the end of the year, two more houses will be launched, one of which will promote sports shoes. For Uzbekistan, the Russian market is a priority area for the sale of finished products, men's shoes are especially in great demand, and from this year also children's shoes.
In second place after Russia is Kazakhstan, in which four trading houses will appear. Followed by Turkey, South Korea and China. For the first quarter of 2016, Uzbek leather and shoe enterprises exported products worth $ 22,3 million with an increase of 4,3% compared to the same period last year. In total, according to the results of this year, they intend to increase the export of their products to $ 190 million.
