Adidas is interested in Brazil

The European Football Championship has entered a decisive phase, and the entire attention of Adidas AG CEO Herbert Heiner has already shifted to the following significant events in the sports world.

“We focused on Brazil,” he told reporters in Warsaw. Next year Brazil will host the Confederations Cup, followed by the 2014 FIFA World Cup, and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

“There is great potential in Brazil,” said Heiner. The country is home to 195 million people, and they are all "crazy about sports."

“I see incredible growth prospects over the next five years,” he said. Brazil is the largest Adidas market in Latin America, asiareport.ru reports.

The German manufacturer of sports shoes and apparel in Brazil ranks second in revenue after competitor Nike Inc. Heiner did not disclose specific sales figures for the company in Brazil.

This year, Adidas expects a record revenue of € 1,6 billion from football products ($ 2,02 billion).
