Adidas will turn garbage from the ocean into fabric

Adidas has announced a partnership with Parley for the Oceans, a project designed to draw attention to ocean pollution. Starting next year, they will work to create fibers from recycled waste that have been dumped into the ocean.

The resulting innovative materials will be used for the production of clothing and, possibly, shoe blanks. In addition, adidas announced that they plan to gradually abandon the use of plastic bags in their stores.

Adidas Group Executive Board Member Erik Liedtke said: "Conserving the oceans is something that is close to the heart of many employees at the Adidas Group. Through our partnership with Parley for the Oceans, we are contributing to a significant sustainable cause."

We add that this is not the first experience of such cooperation for Parley for the Oceans: last year the Dutch retailer G-Star Raw worked with the creators of the project. The result of their joint work was the denim line, the things of which were made of plastic waste.
