Adidas Group optimizes distribution network

Over the 9 months of this year, the German Adidas Group, which specializes in sports shoes, clothing and equipment, closed 179 stores in Russia, and opened 29 new stores in key regions of the company, Moscow and St. Petersburg. 

Now there are about 1000 stores in Russia. In total, during 2015, the company will close 290 outlets around the world, including 200 stores in Russia, but about 100 new retail outlets will open. According to the report of the Adidas Group for January-September 2015, only 330 stores will close, mainly in Russia, 272 of them have already ceased to work worldwide, that is, more than planned. 

Optimization of the Russian brand network allowed the group to reduce operating costs in this market by 31%. In the long term, business in Russia is planned to continue. The indicators of the Adidas Group are generally in line with the general negative trend in the market, especially in the middle price segment, to which the group's products belong.
