Adidas Originals launches sneaker collection featuring Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and Marvel heroes

The new adidas Originals collection is based on the popular Stan Smith sneaker. There were five design options, which were created using images of cartoon and movie characters. The main character of the series was the Disney Frog Kermit. All models in the collection are made from highly efficient recycled PRIMEGREEN material.

In January, adidas Originals announced the next step in reducing plastic use and announced the relaunch of the Stan Smith line.

Recycled materials have been used to create the new Stan Smith sneaker series. The collection features several designs for the Stan Smith sneaker, depicting key characters from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars and the Marvel Universe.

The collection is distinguished by bright prints and drawings. The upper is made from a series of high performance recycled materials from PRIMEGREEN, and the outsole is made from recycled rubber.

Kermit the Frog is the protagonist of the greener line of adidas Originals Stan Smith sneakers. The character-inspired Stan Smith pair is adorned with Kermit's name on the back of the trainer and his portrait on the left tongue, co-branded lining, green laces and the phrase “It's not easy being green”.

The multimedia campaign will be a manifesto for adidas' fight against plastic waste. The campaign will feature famous tennis player Stan Smith, Muppet Show character Kermit the Frog, skateboarders Na-Kel Smith and Nora Vasconcellos, architectural technologist Iddris Sandu, and actress Yara Shahidi.
