Adidas develops eco-friendly material

Adidas AG, a leading manufacturer of sports products, is launching a three-year research program to develop supermaterials that can be recycled several times. Participation in the so-called "circular economy" for the company began with the intention to sew sportswear and shoes from the debris lifted from the ocean floor as part of the Parley for the Oceans project.

Under the "circular economy" refers to the production model in which the use of raw materials is reduced, and waste is reduced to zero. A new program called Sport Infinity will be funded by the European Union and will allow waste-free processing of any sports shoes and surplus goods from other industries to use the resulting material in the production of sports goods, while saving energy and primary material.
