Afimall recognized as life-threatening

The Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation found gross violations during the construction and operation of the Moscow City business complex. In particular, the opening of the outer layer of the facade of the Afimol shopping and entertainment center showed that instead of supporting columns reinforcing cages were installed there, wrapped in mesh and covered with a mixture of cement mortar and construction waste.

According to the conclusion of the prosecutor general’s office, these and other violations constitute “an immediate threat to the life and health of people who are in the complex on a daily basis”.

In this regard, the Prefect of the Central Administrative District and the head of the State Unitary Enterprise of Moscow "Center - City" were presented with a proposal to eliminate violations.

A prosecutor’s check in Moscow City was part of a criminal investigation into the death of a worker from Tajikistan. On 24 of March a beam fell on the worker’s head.
