Aizel.ru will turn into a "market place"

Aizel.ru, a Russian online store of luxury clothing, footwear and accessories, is announcing an investment of 25 million euros. The first round of 2,5 million euros was provided by the Bonum Capital group of companies.

“Despite the general economic situation in Russia, investors are expressing confidence in the prospects for the online trading market for premium and luxury goods,” the press service of Aizel.ru emphasizes. The received investments will be directed to the technological renovation of the project, increasing the volume of purchases, expanding the range of brands, optimizing logistics and improving customer service.

The online store Aizel.ru was opened in 2011 by Aysel Trudel and Alexander Smbatyan (Genome Ventures) on the basis of the multi-brand “offline” boutique Aizel, which had existed for almost ten years at that time. In 2014, the annual growth of the Internet business was 123% with an average check of 18 thousand rubles, and in the first quarter of 2015 the average check grew to 23 thousand rubles, while the turnover increased by 56% compared to a year earlier. In 2015, the company plans to send over 20 thousand orders to 80 cities in Russia and the CIS countries.

The project management also announced a decision to diversify the business model by introducing the “market place” format: starting from April 2015, the site combines its own assortment with goods from mono-brand and multi-brand boutiques located in Russia and the CIS countries. Aizel.ru partners include brands such as Stella McCartney (Mika Grant), Sergio Rossi (Crocus Group), Alexander Terehov (RusModa Group), etc. From the fall-winter 2015-16 season, cooperation with Gucci begins, from the spring- summer 2016 - with Burberry.

“We have every reason to believe that the premium and luxury segments of clothing, footwear and accessories on the Runet are not fully mastered by Russian players, and so far there have been mainly Western online stores,” said the co-founder of the project Aysel Trudel. - We are ready to offer our clients a worthy assortment from the collections of the world's leading fashion brands, the best price ratio and high-quality customer service. The investments received once again prove the prospects of our chosen direction ”.
