According to the Association of Online Trade Companies (AKIT) in Russia for the eight months of 2022 from January to August, the volume of online commerce in Russia increased by 39% compared to the result for the same period in 2021 and amounted to 3,08 trillion rubles, writes New -Retail.ru.
AKIT President Artem Sokolov shared such data during his speech at the Ecom Retail Week-2022 forum. According to his forecast, by the end of the year, the turnover of Internet commerce in Russia could reach 5 trillion rubles. At the same time, the share of e-commerce in total sales at the end of the year, according to various estimates, can range from 10 to 11,2%, which corresponds to the figure for developed countries.
