AliExpress will sell Turkish brands of clothes and shoes in Russia

The largest Chinese Internet retailer AliExpress and its Russian partner SPSR Express are launching a new joint project: online sales of Turkish fashion brands in Russia. It is assumed that AliExpress will take over the selection of brands for the Russian market, as well as organize their platform on its portal, while SPSR Express will engage in direct brand acquisition, selection of collections, as well as logistics and delivery of orders.

“The new project will become the exclusive source of Turkish fashion on the Russian Internet,” said Alex Vasiliev, Head of International Development at SPSR Express. - At present, Turkey is the third largest exporter of clothing in the world, and local manufacturers are actively developing their own brands - today the market has more than 500 local brands. We also see the potential for increasing online trading volumes as none of the top 100 Turkish brands are sold online overseas. For many Turkish brands, participation in the project will make it possible to debut on the Russian market in the online segment. "

It is reported that agreements have already been reached with brands such as Gizia, Sassofono, Collezione, Avva, Marenero, Mapata, Faik Sonmez, Guita, which will be on sale on the AliExpress website, which previously specialized only in Chinese brands, at the end of February. By the end of 2015, it is planned to join about 200 manufacturers of clothing, footwear and accessories, including Defacto, Batik, Kemal Tanca, NG Style, Roman, etc., and by the end of 2016 - to reach 500.

“The launch of new international fashion brands on AliExpress is an important step in terms of the global development of our site,” commented Mark Zavadsky, AliExpress Business Development Director in Russia and the CIS. “We believe that our expertise in e-commerce and the expertise of a partner in international logistics will allow us to successfully implement a project unique for AliExpress both in Russia and in the world, and to offer our users an even wider and more interesting range of goods at competitive prices.”
