Amazon, the world's largest online retailer, has patented a new delivery method, where goods are packed and loaded even before a customer has placed an order. The company calls this technology "pre-delivery". With its help, the retailer intends to shorten the delivery time of goods and, possibly, make visits to physical stores less necessary.
Customers preferences will be clarified based on previous orders, product searches, a wish list and other factors.
According to Forrester Research analyst Sucharita Mulpuru, Amazon is likely to use its many customer data and be able to predict demand based on this information.
