The Russian market remains one of the most strategically important for Italian shoe manufacturers.

This is evidenced by the statistics of the export of Italian footwear to Russia. "In the first six months of 2012, exports to Russia grew by 15,1% and to Kazakhstan by 22,3% compared to the same period in 2011," notes Cleto Sagripanti, president of the Italian Footwear Manufacturers Association (ANCI).

Italian shoe makers intend to further increase their presence in the Russian market and in the post-Soviet space (primarily in Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan), developing collections specifically for local markets.

“The Russian market has great potential. This is evidenced by the active interest in Italian brands on the part of buyers from various regions. Despite the crisis that European markets are experiencing, Italian brands manage to maintain their positions, ”says Ronnie Bigioni, coordinator of the Russian direction of ANCI.

Note that ANCI is a regular participant in professional shoe exhibitions in Moscow, Alma-Ata and Kiev.
