Recently, the deputy of the lower house of parliament from the "Fair Russia" Oleg Mikheev said that sneakers, ballet flats and high-heeled shoes are dangerous for the health of Russians and sent the EEC for further consideration.

According to Mikheev, according to statistics, about 40% of the adult population suffer from flat feet.

"Previously, mostly women suffered from uncomfortable shoes, since the lion's share of complications are caused by high heels - stiletto heels. But now men are also at risk. Fashionable sneakers, loafers, loafers without heels are also dangerous to health," he warned. Such footwear threatens the development of flat feet, deformation of the leg muscles, varicose veins of the lower extremities and other diseases, the deputy warned. He noted that currently, the Customs Union regulations on footwear determine the parameters of strength, water resistance, chemical composition, but not biomechanical and orthopedic requirements.

However, the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reported that the likelihood of the adoption of a new technical regulation of the Customs Union, according to which sneakers and ballet flats may be outlawed for Russians, is zero. "At best, the deputy will be able to draw attention to the problem of the spread of flat feet. So far, we are only watching how the deputy draws attention to his own person," concluded a source in the EEC, noting that such news stories serve only one purpose - to establish tension in society ...
