Balmain's runway show at Paris Fashion Week presented us with a new take on the feminine look from the brand's creative director Olivier Rousteing. Silhouette-enveloping fabrics, soft cashmere, supple leather - confidence and comfort.
For next winter, Balmain offers a collection of warm and cozy outerwear: leather trench coats, large, loose hooded sweaters, plush jackets, cozy fleece or mohair pieces, maxi draped or striped coats in enveloping volume, leather sets, long anoraks with many pockets, cashmere jersey jumpsuits and satin kimono capes.
All this is combined with wool leggings and thigh-high boots, the collection features straight and sinuous "accordion" ones. The shoes also have slightly exaggerated volumetric shapes due to the folds of soft leather. "I want to create a new softness with shapes that envelop," Olivier Rousteing said about his idea for the collection.
