Director General of the Belarusian leather and footwear company “Marco” Nikolai Martynov announced the signing of an agreement on the construction of a joint shoe enterprise in Uzbekistan. It is estimated that a new production site with a capacity of about 1 million pairs will be built in 2019.
Specialized safety shoes will be produced at the enterprise.
Also in November of this year, the modernized Vitebsk Fur Combine, which is part of the Marco holding, should be put into operation. At full capacity, the plant, which will process sheepleather and fur, as well as sew products from them, will be launched in 2019-2020.
The project of reconstruction and modernization of the fur factory began in 2014. According to Martynov, about $ 30 million was invested in the modernization of the enterprise.

The holding includes enterprises for the production of footwear, bags and leather goods - "San Marco" and JSC "Red October", "Vitebsk Fur Factory", a branded retail chain of stores, social and cultural facilities. The holding's enterprises annually produce over 4 million pairs of women's, men's and children's footwear under the Marko brand, as well as premium-class footwear under the Bravo brand.
