Birkenstock reimagines Zurich sandals

German footwear brand Birkenstock has decided to redesign the Zürich sandal model, sixty years after the silhouette was released on sale. The updated version of the model was called "Zürich Tech".

The updated version of the sandal's monochrome suede upper is fastened with a plastic adjustable clasp borrowed from sports equipment. The sandals have a lightweight EVA sole and a classic Birkenstock anatomical cork latex insole. The price of a pair of sandals "Zürich Tech" is 160,00 €.

The launch of the updated model comes on the heels of other brand news - in early February, Birkenstock opened a public space in east London, Birkenstock Studio: Walk With Me, which aims to become a creative hub, with a free program of events and workshops for collaboration with artists and creatives.
