Maison Margiela's Tabi boots break auction records in Paris.

On July 9, Maurice Auction, in collaboration with Kerry Taylor Auctions, held an auction in Paris featuring 195 lots from the personal archive of Belgian designer Marine Margiela. The auction, which closed with 100% sales, generated over €1,38 million in total proceeds.

The auction attracted over 1500 participants from 41 countries, with a significant presence from Asian countries – Japan, China, South Korea, and Southeast Asian countries.

Among the most sought-after lots was a pair of hand-painted and graffiti-covered Tabi boots from 1991. The lot exceeded all expectations, reaching €364,000, becoming the most expensive item ever sold at Margiela.
