Bottega Veneta has opened a new shoe shop in Vigonza, between Padua and Venice, on the Riviera del Brenta, Italy's legendary shoe manufacturing region.
The facade of the building is made of dark metal panels, reminiscent of the brand's signature Intrecciato leather weave.
The atelier occupies an area of more than 17 square kilometers and is located on three floors. The infrastructure of the building includes offices, meeting and recreation rooms, a dining room and a large terrace.
From design, development, research, quality control, prototyping to final production, all Bottega Veneta shoes will now be sold under one roof in Vigonza.
“Since its founding, Bottega Veneta has been deeply rooted in the culture, community and unique traditions of the Veneto region,” said Leo Rongone, CEO of Bottega Veneta. “The craftsmanship that defines a fashion house can only be born in this area, and we could not have chosen a better place than Vigonza, in the shoe district of the Brenta Riviera, to house our atelier.”
According to Rongone, the atelier will allow the company to maintain and develop the skills of the Maison's craftsmen and "to extend to shoes the creativity and craftsmanship that has distinguished our bags since 1966."
In autumn, brand creative director V presented Mathieu Blazy with a striking collection of bags and shoes, from high woven leather boots to iridescent clogs reminiscent of jellyfish. On July 20, Bottega Veneta will hold a re-show of its Fall 2023 collection in Beijing.
The company is also investing in the restoration of Milan's Palazzo San Fedele, which will house Bottega Veneta's new headquarters in Milan. The building of the palace, located next to Milan's Duomo and La Scala, was built in 1970 and once belonged to the Manzoni theater, now it is being restored by Bottega Veneta.
