The new collection of Burberry spring-summer 2024, the images of which have already appeared on the web, became the second collection of Daniel Lee as creative director of the British luxury brand. Lee was appointed to this position in September 2022, after several years of successful shoe design at Bottega Veneta (from 2018 to 2021), according to Footwearnews.com.
Lee's debut collection for Burberry Fall/Winter 2023 featured a lot of interesting design choices in shoes and accessories, where elements of British heritage like roses and equestrianism were mixed with trends like fluffy shoes.
In the spring'24 collection, a general market trend towards greater sophistication can be traced. The predominant colors are black, white and grey. And the main patterns were Lee's reimagined motif of signature Burberry crow's feet and various interpretations of the cage.
The shoe silhouettes of the new collection are relatively traditional: boots with round toe heels, boots with massive soles, classic rubber boots, etc. The details make the models special. The designer's love for false zippers with ball chain fasteners is noticeable in the design of women's shoes and boots with heels.
Other elements were metal springs wrapped around the laces of men's black leather boots, a braided rope upper on a pair of Very-Lee sandals. The signature houndstooth pattern appears as edging on the milky wellington boots. And black and white wavy checks and other checkered interpretations adorn tights that complement shoes, as well as coats, dresses, men's suits and handbags.
