Camper acquired a majority stake in Ancient Greek Sandals

Spain's Camper has acquired a controlling stake (60%) in Ancient Greek Sandals, a Greek brand known for its collections of high-quality, handcrafted leather sandals made in Greece. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Ancient Greek Sandals, a Greek company founded in 2012, is headquartered in the industrial area of Inofyta (Viotia), approximately 60 kilometers north of Athens. Ancient Greek Sandals' revenue in 2025 was €10 million.

Under the new owners, the Greek company will continue to operate as a completely independent brand, maintaining its identity. The company's founders and co-founders, Nicholas Minoglou, the current CEO, and Christina Martini, the creative director, as well as partner Yannis Vagenas (brand manager), will become minority shareholders and retain their positions.

"Partnering with Camper is a dream come true," explains Nicholas Minoglou, CEO of Ancient Greek Sandals, in a press release issued by Camper. He continues: "From day one, Christina and I have been driven by a passion for the history of Greek footwear. Joining forces with a historic, family-owned company like Camper gives us the logistical, technological, and commercial support we need to realize our full potential, while maintaining the freedom of creative independence. We are very excited about the journey ahead." According to Minoglou, the majority of Ancient Greek Sandals production will remain in Greece, although a small portion may be moved abroad.

Camper, a family-owned business founded in 1877 in Mallorca, produces footwear under the Camper and Camper Lab brands. Camper's revenue in 2025 was €255 million.

"The addition of Ancient Greek Sandals to our family is an incredibly important milestone for us," said Miguel Fluxa, CEO of Camper and a fourth-generation member of the Spanish group's founding family. This is the first brand acquisition in the history of the Mallorcan group.

In 2022, Camper, together with mountaineer Kilian Jornet, launched NNormal, an outdoor brand focused on high performance and sustainability. Camper has no plans for further acquisitions in the near future.
