Spanish footwear brand Camper is putting the spotlight on its iconic Pelotas sneaker this season with an advertising campaign that includes a series of photographs by Spanish photographer Aitor Laspiura. The shots feature carefree teenagers in the iconic sneakers, riding bikes, lounging in the grass and enjoying the rain.
The Pelotas sneaker model appeared in 1995 – its name means “balls” in Spanish. The design of the model was inspired by the shape and texture of vintage handmade balls.
The Pelotas Ariel features a rubber outsole with 87 balls stitched to a premium European vegetable-tanned leather upper. The Pelotas Ariel is made exclusively in Europe. This season, the model is presented with a new hand-brushed finish and a design inspired by boxing boots.
Camper stays true to its 90s style, but adds two playful versions of the TWINS with color-blocked uppers to its latest collection. Twins are the brand's signature feature - the specialty of the Twins models is that the left half-pair differs from the right model due to the selection of different colors, textures and design elements.
Camper, which had been developing its retail in Russia, closed its stores in the country with the start of the military conflict in Ukraine. However, soon the new products of the Spanish brand became available again to Russian fans of the brand and appeared in the multi-brand retail Bootwood, which is being developed by the distribution company Jamilco.
