CAPRICE builds tent cities in Pakistan for 4000 people due to flooding

Heavy monsoon rains cause flooding in large areas of Pakistan. 33 million people were affected by the floods, some of them lost their homes and property. Thousands of people died and were injured in the worst natural disaster in the country's recent history.

CAPRICE, based in Pirmasens, Germany, has been manufacturing some of its shoes in Pakistan since 1999. During this time, very close and friendly relations have developed between business partners and employees of companies in both countries. CAPRICE managers visit the factory regularly, Pakistani managers often visit Pirmasens.

To help people in Pakistan quickly and without red tape, CAPRICE is currently organizing and funding the construction of 500 tent shelters in flood-affected areas. Each tent can accommodate families and groups of 8 people.

“We have been working very closely with our Pakistani business partners for over 20 years. Although our factory was not affected by the disaster, many relatives and friends of the over 1000 Pakistani women and men who currently work for CAPRICE were affected. We "We feel a close connection with the Pakistani people and stand in solidarity with them. What is needed now is fast help that reaches the people quickly. Our product managers and technologists from Pirmasens, who are now on site, are helping to organize the help," says Jürgen Kölsch, Managing Director of CAPRICE.
