CCC Germany GmbH, which develops shops of the Polish footwear chain CCC in Germany, filed an insolvency petition in the District Court of Osnabrück (Germany). The court appointed an interim manager, who became Stefan Meyer von Pluto. The reason for the bankruptcy was quarantine and isolation measures in the situation of the coronavirus pandemic, writes shoez.biz.
The format of the Polish CCC stores presupposes rather large retail space. In Germany, CCC stores are located in the best places in shopping centers, where rent is quite high. After the quarantine of shopping centers, sales in CCC stores were discontinued. However, CCC Germany does not have its own online store. After the quarantine was lifted in the summer months, sales were also quite low. Until recently, the annual sales of CCC retail in Germany, which has 65 stores, amounted to about 20 million euros.
