American shoppers are prone to online shopping, the future is for e-commerce. Analysts came to this conclusion after analyzing the results of two popular sales days in the United States - Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
According to data from Adobe Analytics, the agency that monitored the 100 data of the largest US online stores, online sales this Black Friday exceeded $ 7.9 billion, which is 18% more than sales during Thanksgiving discounts last year.
During the Cyber Monday promotion, which took place on November 27, $ 6.59 billion worth of goods were sold.
The volume of purchases made in the USA on the day of the Cyber-Monday campaign using mobile devices reached $ 2 billion. 37.6% of visits to online stores were made from smartphones, which ultimately brought 21.3% of all revenue. The owners of the tablets were also active: they made 8.2% of visits, which, in turn, brought 9.1% of revenues.
“Smartphones have finally and irrevocably become the main tool for online shopping, while tablets are used more for games and entertainment,” according to Adobe Analytics.
Analysts note that the trend towards lower sales in real retail and online sales in the USA continues. Traditional retail is making more and more efforts to develop a strategy to master electronic commerce. For example, retailers such as Walmart and Target have recently optimized the delivery services of goods ordered online to make online shopping even more comfortable. And such large shopping centers as Nordstrom and Macy's have added online shopping opportunities to the services that are presented in their traditional retail.
