The national digital marking system "Chestny Znak" has been supplemented with a function to search for deviations associated with the sale of products not put into circulation.
“Now Chestny Znak qualifies as a rejection the sale of goods with codes that were received from the CRPT, but the importer or manufacturer has not officially put them into circulation,” said Anton Gushchansky, Director for Control (Surveillance) Activities of the CRPT. “That is, the turnover of this product is carried out in violation of the mandatory requirements in terms of labeling.”
According to Gushchansky, the introduction of a new function of the system will allow recording the actions of unscrupulous market participants. For example, in the tobacco industry, the lack of information about the introduction of goods into circulation may indicate an attempt to underestimate the tax base and avoid paying excises.
