Christian Dior unveils elegant heels and steady oxfords at a Paris fashion show

Since Maria Grazia Curie took the helm of Christian Dior, there are virtually no high heels in the collection of the luxury brand.

So on the catwalk of the recent High Fashion Week in Paris during the fashion show of the Christian Dior fall-2017 women's collection, one could notice several key styles of shoes with relatively small heels or flat soles.


Firstly, these are oxfords with a scalloped sole, polished top and contrasting laces. A style that resembles London fashion during the First World War. Secondly, these are velvet boots. Thirdly, flat sandals giving the evening dress a slightly less formal look.


An important detail that gives a special chic to women's shoes is a low curved heel just above the cat's heel (English: kitten heel) embroidered with beads, with a texture coating.
