Christian Louboutin teams up with Idris and Sabrina Elba
French shoe designer Christian Louboutin has teamed up with celebrity couple British actor Idris Elba and his wife Sabrina, an actress and model of Somali origin, to release a capsule collection inspired by African culture, writes Footwearnews.com.
The capsule collection is part of the charitable and socially significant project “Walk a Mile in My Shoes”, which was initiated by Christian Louboutin Sabrina and Idris Elba in 2020 in support of social equality and the creative development of young people in the US, UK, France, Ghana, Somalia and Sierra Leone. Proceeds from the sale of the collection go to charitable organizations.
The key design element of the collection was the braid - a symbol of the interweaving of cultures and African motifs in the design on the tops of shoes and bags. The incredibly bright collection includes sneakers, women's high-heeled stiletto and flat sandals, loafers, complemented by handbags and a small backpack.
The Walk a Mile in My Shoes collection is available online and in select Christian Louboutin boutiques. The special capsule will also be available at select Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks.com stores.
