Christian Louboutin Launches New Bag Collection With Filipino Artists

The collection includes two summer Manilacaba bags, created from a combination of different materials, and a Piloutin clutch decorated with Swarovski crystals, writes Footwearnews.

French designer Christian Louboutin again uses elements of ethnoculture in his work, this time of the peoples of the Philippines. The bright colors and elegant patterns that the designer met while traveling in Asia sunk into his soul, and he used these impressions to create a new limited collection of bags.

Manilacaba multicolor handbags are sewn of blue denim or black satin and decorated with images of famous Philippine painted jeeps. These vehicles, left in the Philippines by US forces during World War II, are still the main form of transport on the island. They are distinguished by bright coloring, which according to local belief, protects from trouble.

Louboutin has attracted Filipino artists to create textile inserts on the side panels of the bags of the new collection, as part of a collaboration with the international mission GREAT Women in ASEAN, which helps spread the works of Filipino women artists in other countries of the world.

The collection is presented in a limited edition. Christian Louboutin has released the entire 10 Piloutin clutch, which will be presented only in boutiques of the brand in different countries of the world.

Manilacaba bags are already on sale at the luxury brand's online store at the fabulous price of $ 1,590. The brand emphasizes that 10% of the proceeds from the sale of handbags goes to support the mission of GREAT Women in ASEAN.
