By the end of the year, Dagestan shoe manufacturers are planning to launch a new brand on the market. It is also planned to launch the production of arch supports for shoes in the republic, TASS reports.
The Minister of Industry and Trade of Dagestan, Nizam Khalilov, spoke about the news in the footwear industry of Dagestan.
“We want to make a completely Russian brand. We expect the first results of work in this direction by the end of the year. Currently, our manufacturers are already producing shoes under their own brands - these are Boff, DOF, Maratti, Kosta and others, we will actively bring them to the market. At the same time, we are developing trading platforms where manufacturers will be able to present their shoes,” he said.
The minister noted that more than 3 million pairs of shoes are produced in the republic annually, local manufacturers work mainly with large retail chains, such as Kari and Zenden. In addition, the only enterprise in Russia that manufactures molds for molding soles operates in the region.
“This is a fully import-substituting production, it was launched last year in Buynaksk, this year they began to work for third-party enterprises. Today they are already receiving orders from Belarus, there are also orders from the regions of the Russian Federation, ”the head of the department specified.
By the end of the year, the DOF+ shoe factory is also planning to launch the production of arch supports for shoes. The production will be import-substituting, as there are no similar production facilities in Russia so far.
For the supply of raw materials for shoe enterprises, the region cooperates with the tannery Russkaya Kozha. The City of Shoemakers project is being implemented in Dagestan, which involves the launch of new enterprises and organizations in the shoe industry with a total investment of about 7 billion rubles and the creation of about 1,6 thousand new jobs. The project is included in the model of economic development of the republic until 2030.
