Detsky Mir may become a chain of hypermarkets
Detsky Mir Group is going to open stores in the hypermarket format - with an area of about 7 thousand sq. M. Where it will be impossible to open a store with a large area, the retailer plans to open mini-markets with an area of approximately 500 sq. m., RNS reports with reference to the words of the director general of "Detsky Mir" Vladimir Chirakhov.
Now the typical format of Detsky Mir stores is 1100-1200 sq. m
“We plan to actively develop large formats. There are plans to reconstruct existing stores with a large area, at the end of the year we will present the concept of a new store with a format of 7 thousand square meters, ”Chirakhov said in an interview. The first Detsky Mir hypermarket should appear at the end of 2018.
The entrepreneur also stressed that the company "is forced to consider small-format stores where there is no opportunity to open a large store." In the near future, it is planned to open a store in Krasnoarmeysk near Moscow, it will become the smallest store - about 500 sq. m.
