Detsky Mir Group and the Dmitrov RTI Plant, the largest waste recycling plant in Russia, have summed up the results of the 2021 campaign “New Life for Unwanted Clothes and Shoes with Benefits for You”.
In October 2021, Detsky Mir expanded the geography of participating stores to 107 retail outlets in Moscow and the region. Anyone could donate clean, used clothes and shoes to the store and in return receive a 15% discount coupon for one new item in the Clothing and Shoes category.
As a result, in 2021, 2,7 tons of waste from shoe and textile production were collected and transferred to the Dmitrovsky RTI plant for further processing into small crumbs.
The most popular points for collecting recyclables were the Detsky Mir stores in the MEGA Teply Stan shopping center, a store at 37/3 Vernadsky Avenue, and Detsky Mir in the city of Zvenigorod, located on Moskovskaya Street, 32.
The number of buyers who took part in the campaign "New life of unwanted clothes and shoes with benefits for you" for 2021 exceeded 4 thousand people.
The action "New life of unnecessary clothes and shoes for the benefit of you" was launched in the Detsky Mir chain of stores in March 2020. The purpose of the action was to popularize responsible and reasonable consumption, as well as to expand the available infrastructure for the collection and recycling of shoe and textile waste.
