French luxury brand Dior and German comfort shoe brand Birkenstock, known for its cork-soled sandals, have once again teamed up to create a summer limited edition shoe in vibrant colours.
Dior and Birkenstock last caught the eye with redesigns of the German brand's iconic Arizona silhouettes and the Boston clog.. Dior presented the result of this collaboration during the fall 2022 show of their own collection at Men's Fashion Week in Paris, and it turned out to be very successful, the collection sold very quickly.
This time both brands tried to release something even brighter. For the latest Dior menswear collection, Dior Men Artistic Director Kim Jones created exclusive Tokyo clogs and Milano sandals with French shoe designer Thibault Denis. For the current collaboration, the brands have taken these models as the basis, releasing them in three bold colors - khaki, pastel yellow and green.
The first model is Tokio mules with a calfleather top, decorated with a chrome-plated buckle with the Dior logo. The slip-on model has an adjustable strap that wraps around the back of the leg. The shoes are set on cork soles.
Featuring signature Arizona style, Milano sandals feature two calfleather leather straps fastened with a signature engraved aluminum buckle. This model also has an adjustable back strap, but differs from the mules with a cork upper sole that is complemented by a rubber outsole. Milano sandals are presented only in two colors - khaki and green.
Models of the Dior by Birkenstock collaboration are priced at $1100. The limited collection is already available on the Dior website.
