Dior unveiled its new flagship in Beijing – House of Dior Beijing

The new flagship of the House of Dior in Beijing is an impressive five-story building designed by the French architect and Pritzker Prize winner Christian de Portzamparc.

The House of Dior Beijing is located in the heart of Sanlitun, the mecca of luxury and cultural excitement in the Chinese capital.

The building is covered in petal-shaped shells. The vertical facades are decorated with hand-blown golden glass tiles—a color traditionally reserved for Chinese royalty. The first-floor windows feature suitcases, cleverly transformed into backdrops for a dream trip to Paris.

Herringbone parquet flooring, a new interpretation of weaving, and subtle touches of gold accent the space, alongside ultra-modern furniture and black-and-white photography. The decor is complemented by works by Wang Xiyao, Hong Hao, Franck Evennu, and Gio Ponti, reflecting Monsieur Dior's life before the advent of fashion, when he ran an art gallery in Paris in the 1920s.

On the top floor, echoing La Galerie Dior in the Parisian flagship at 30 rue Montaigne, a monumental spiral staircase and an OMA installation illustrate the know-how of the house’s workshops.

In addition to the boutique, the building also houses the restaurant Monsieur Dior, run by Anne-Sophie Pic, the most famous chef in the world.

The Beijing flagship reflects the Dior universe and presents the full range of women's ready-to-wear, handbags, accessories and shoes, men's clothing, as well as jewelry, Dior Maison pieces, watches and the La Collection Privée fragrance collection.
