Children's shoe distributors oppose joint procurement practices

At the next meeting of distributors, which took place at the factory in Yegoryevsk, the Kotofey company summed up the results of the work of the manufacturer and regional representatives over the past year. Representatives of the Yegoryevsk-Obuv factory reported that during this time they produced more than 4 million pairs of children's shoes. The results of the first four months of 2011 showed that the factory shipped 28% more children's footwear than in the same period last year. The increase in shipments of the Ural distributor of the brand, the Mila company - wholesale footwear ”, amounted to 45%, the Moscow representative office, the Credo company - 35%, the distributor in Krasnodar, the Aglashuz company - 10%.

Distributors were introduced to the manufacturer’s online store, which will soon begin its work.

At the meeting, distributors discussed the most pressing topics, including the organization of joint purchases by end consumers, as well as its relevance in the regions. Most distributors, including many owners of their own retail stores, opposed joint purchases. Motivating this by the fact that customers use the resources of their stores, namely, try on shoes there, which are subsequently ordered in small wholesale, thereby causing irreparable damage to retail. Among those who do not see anything threatening in such cooperation was Mila - shoes wholesale company, according to which the share of joint purchases is not more than 1% of the total sales of the company. “This is such a meager volume that so far joint purchases cannot compete with any retail store,” said Alexander Borodin, manager of Mila Wholesale Shoes.
