Dr. Martens enlisted Marc Jacobs to create an anniversary pair of his 6 1460-inch boots, which turns 60 this year. Brands already had a similar experience of cooperation 27 years ago, writes snobette.com.
Designed by Marc Jacobs, the boot reflects the brand's enduring love of New York, where it was born and the punk movement, symbolized by a gold plated charm chain hanging from the back of the boot. The charms on the chain include a cameo, a whistle, dice, the statue of liberty, and a crystal heart.
Since designer Marc Jacobs is a vegan, the boots he designed are also vegan. The shoes are presented in burgundy color. The tongue of the boot features the co-branding of Dr. Martens and Marc Jacobs.
This is the ninth series of anniversary boots Dr. Martens 1460. Prior to this, the brand produced boots in an updated design, collaborating with other brands, including Bathing Ape, Raf Simons, Hello Kitty, Michael Basquiat.
The collaboration between Dr. Martens and Marc Jacobs will be released on September 26, and the boots can be purchased at the Dr. Martens online store.
