Dr. Martens launches William Blake shoe collection

Two pairs of classic Dr. boots Martens received a new reading by designing the top of the shoe with prints from fragments of paintings by William Blake, a British artist who drew inspiration from politics, mysticism and occultism, writes Footwearnews.

From the point of view of the representatives of the brand, the paintings of the mysterious painter William Blake are consonant with the spirit of Dr. Martens. They meet the mood of those who choose brand shoes for themselves, since they, like Blake, are inherent in such qualities as rebellion, love of freedom and a thirst for creativity.

The limited collection of the brand has become part of the partnership of Dr. Martens with the Tate British art gallery, the brand used excerpts from Blake’s paintings that are stored in the museum. In addition to two pairs of shoes, the capsule collection also includes a bag, a backpack and two T-shirts.

The famous eight-eyed Dr. Martens is adorned with an excerpt from Blake’s famous painting “The Devil Afflicting Job with Leprosy” (1826). The retail price of this pair is $ 150. Three-eyed Oxfords Dr. Martens presents an excerpt from Blake’s painting “The House of Death” (1795), the retail price of this pair is $ 130.

Prices for a leather bag, backpack and limited edition T-shirts range from $ 50 to $ 270. The entire collection is presented in stores and on the brand website.

The capsule collection with paintings by William Blake is one of the projects that was launched as part of the collaboration of Dr. Martens with the Tate British Art Gallery.
