The Russian sneaker brand "Two balls" has released sneakers for those who grew up on the cartoon "Smeshariki", the cult animated series turns 20 this year. The collection includes high black and low white sneakers. The designs are inspired by graffiti and street art.
“I was inspired by street style and decided to transfer Smesharikov to the aesthetics of street fashion - the very shape of the Two Ball sneaker pushed me to this. The streets for me are graffiti. Black sneakers sing of the most popular character - Krosh. The design of the shoes reflects the energetic nature of the hero. The character's name is also done in a unique style. Krosh's emotion expresses his coolness and active attitude. The sneakers are decorated with splashes of paint, as if the owner of these shoes is an artist who has just applied graffiti on his own. For whites, we used large lettering from the name of the Smeshariki project itself. This word is already a part of modern culture in itself,” commented Alexander Nazarenko, fashion expert and designer of the capsule collection.
The upper is made of canvas, the sole is made of wear-resistant rubber. The insole has multiple layers of EVA foam for softness and comfort.
Black sneakers or "Kroshekhody" personify Krosh - one of the main characters of the series, an eternal optimist who does not lose heart even standing at the mouth of a volcano. The model is decorated with splashes of paint, as if it is a challenge, a manifesto of reality, expressed through a bright emotional message.
White sneakers are made with a stylized inscription "Smeshariki" as a recognition and a reference to the episode "Two Wizards", where the main characters find themselves in a parallel universe - the White World, after a grandiose magical confrontation in which everyone tried to change the surrounding space. The model has a print with two key characters of the series - Krosh and Nyusha in the author's drawing. The heroes here act as accent color spots on a monochrome design.
