One of the largest online platforms in the world has launched sales of goods from Russian online stores. EBay partners include well-known domestic e-commerce players.
So far, eBay in Russia has focused on cross-border trade: in the summer, the company agreed with Russian Post to expedite the delivery of purchases from China. At the end of 2013, eBay was receiving about 90 orders from Russian customers per day.
The fact that in September eBay wants to launch the sale of goods of Russian online stores on its site, in the summer, said the head of the branch in Russia Vladimir Dolgov. The opportunity to sell will be open to all online stores, he emphasized then, while there will be an absent opportunity to set the price of goods in rubles and deliver goods across the Russian Federation.
Some major online retailers are skeptical of this possibility, considering their sales platforms more convenient for consumers.
