The Ekko-Ros company, which manages the Ecco store chain in Russia, has launched the third distribution center in Russia in St. Petersburg. The other two work in Moscow and Chelyabinsk. Thus, the total area of the retailer's DC was 25 thousand square meters. m. Until 2015, the RC is planned to be built in Samara, Volgograd, Krasnodar, Novosibirsk and Nizhny Novgorod.
"Launching a DC in St. Petersburg will allow us to get the same advantages as when launching other distribution centers: reducing the time for receiving and assembling goods from one and a half to two hours to 30 minutes, reducing the volume of underloaded goods from 20 to 0-5%, as well as increasing quality order picking and inventory control, reducing the time spent on inventory, and ultimately increasing productivity and turnover ", - said Sergey Prokhorov, head of IT department at Ecco in Russia. Today in Russia there are 300 Ecco stores, of which 170 are own. By the end of the year, the company plans to launch another 20-25 of its own points. The objects will appear in new regions for Ecco: Krasnoyarsk, Tula, Bryansk, Yaroslavl, Novokuznetsk, Tomsk, Pskov, Krasnodar, Novy Urengoy, Kostroma, Saratov, Arkhangelsk, Voronezh. New openings are planned in Moscow as well.
