Yekaterinburg is the city most provided with high-quality shopping centers

According to the results of 2013, the Magazin Magazinov store updated the rating of Russian million-plus cities in terms of the provision of the population with high-quality retail space. According to the results of the year, Yekaterinburg displaced Voronezh from the first place, and the position of Ufa rose in the rating by 5 points. Otherwise, the alignment of forces with respect to the previous published rating has not changed.

“The growth of Yekaterinburg's position in the rating was predictable, and was due to the opening of the reconstructed Ekaterininsky shopping center (now the Globus shopping center), as well as the second stage of the Raduga Park shopping and entertainment center. Ufa "rose" in the rating due to the opening of the Planeta shopping and entertainment center in the city, - notes Andrey Vasyutkin, head of the research and consulting department at Magazin Magazinov.

Moscow and St. Petersburg are deliberately not included in the overall ranking of cities with a population of over one million, as the population in Russian capitals is too different from other cities, which makes it impossible to make an objective comparison. Nevertheless, a significant change in the indicator for the 2013 year was again recorded in St. Petersburg, from 395 sq. / 1000 residents to 422 sq. / 1000 residents. In Moscow, despite the opening of new retail facilities, the indicator has not changed, which is associated with an increase in the population of the city.

In the regions of Russia (with the exception of Moscow), it is planned to commission 2014 shopping centers in 43 with an aggregate leasable area of slightly over 1,7 million square meters, which is almost 1,5 times more than the area of high-quality shopping centers commissioned in 2013. The objects announced for commissioning are also of significant scale, for example, the "Ambar" shopping center in Samara (leasable area of 90 sq. M) or "Nebo" in Nizhny Novgorod (leasable area of 000 sq. M). Although the largest project, announced for opening in 69 in a city with a population of less than a million people - Barnaul, we are talking about the Arena shopping and entertainment center with a total leasable area of 000 sq. M.

At the end of 2013, Magazin Magazinov updated the rating of Russian cities with a population of over one million in terms of provision of the population with high-quality shopping ...
