"Econika" released a collaboration with the Ruban sisters based on the works of Modigliani

Russian designers Julia and Alisa Ruban worked on the design of the capsule collection of the Russian footwear brand Econika. The collaboration resulted in a collection of shoes, bags and accessories based on the work of the French artist Amedeo Modigliani and his beloved city of Paris.

The presentation of the collection took place in the center of Moscow in the historical building of the Moscow River Imperial Yacht Club, and in itself represented a creative action. In the center of the exposition stood a figure repeating a silhouette from a painting by Amedeo Modigliani - a self-portrait of the artist. She also served as a kind of demonstration stand for a collection of shoes and ankle boots, the design of which was created based on the works of a Paris portrait painter, in the colors and details characteristic of Modigliani painting and a Paris art school of the beginning of the 20 century.

Even live installations were built to showcase the new Ruban for Ekonika collection. For example, shoes from the new collection were located on the movable platforms of the object, which resembled the fountain of the French architect Tangli at the Pompidou Center in Paris.

One of the main design elements of footwear is the silhouette of the profile of a woman's face, as interpreted by the designers of the collection - the profile of the "artist's muse". The designers turned to the famous portrait of Lunia Chekhovskoy and transferred it to matte leather and suede. Other recurring artistic elements in the design of the products are the images of eyes and lips - they are an important part of the character of the heroines in the original works of the famous portraitist.

The highlight of the collection is the shoes, which are three half-pairs - one half-pair for the right foot and two for the left in the same set. As the authors of the project explain, in order for their owner to be able to change half-pairs according to her mood. Due to the picturesque design of the top of these models, such a replacement of one half-pair with another does not distort the overall style, but adds originality and variety.

The collection includes high boots - over the knee boots, shoes, sneakers, flat and heeled ankle boots, boots with a fur trim, quilted top boots with a pattern resembling silhouettes of people from portraits of the artist.

By the way, the same motif, as well as drawings in the form of eyes, is present on the sole of some models.

Metal trinkets in the form of faces from Modigliani paintings adorn the clasps of bags, prints resembling paintings can be seen not only at the top of shoes, but also bags, clutches, backpacks and wallets, scarves.

The original collection will be available in stores in the Econika chain in July. Product prices have not yet been determined.

The famous Italian painter who worked in Paris at the end of the 19-beginning of the 20 century, Amedeo Modigliani is one of the favorite artists of the duet of Russian fashion designers sisters Julia and Alice Ruban. His work is devoted to the last couture collection of dresses of the Ruban sisters, which was released at the end of the 2017 of the year.
