Expert Council on light and textile industry proposed methods to combat counterfeiting

On September 28, a meeting of the Expert Council on light and textile industries, folk and art crafts and the children's goods industry was held at the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, Industry, Innovative Development and Entrepreneurship.

Among those present at the meeting of the Expert Council were the first persons of companies engaged in the shoe industry - Zenden, Unichel, Kari, Bris-Bosphorus, as well as the head of the Russian Union of Tanners and Shoemakers Alexandra Andrunakievich.

As a result of the Expert Council, representatives of shoe manufacturers and associations asked the deputies to consider the possibility of returning criminal liability for smuggling, as well as consider preparing legislative amendments to strengthen administrative responsibility and increase fines for manufacturers and sellers of first-layer clothing and clothing for students (school uniforms) and shoes whose products do not meet the requirements of technical regulations s TS "On the safety of light industry products", and "On the safety of products intended for children and adolescents."

The members of the Expert Council decided to support the bill on shoe marking, but were unanimous in the opinion that it would be inappropriate to introduce a recycling fee on shoes until the results on the full implementation of the shoe marking project were received.
