According to RBC Market Research for the 12 months ending March 2025 in the fashion retail segment in Russia there were 232 stores were closed, the total number was 17414 outlets. The study took into account retail chains with more than three stores.
It is noted that in the previous two years, Russian chains, on the contrary, expanded. From February 2022 to April 2023, 976 stores were added, then by April 2024 - another 409. The previous growth occurred due to the replacement of the areas of international brands that left the Russian market, closing 2870 stores. 115 international retailers left. The total number of foreign brands decreased by 45%. In the last year, the Incity chain closed about 75 stores, Modis, Mango stores (about 28) were closed.
