According to the Uzcharmsanoat association, over the year, exports of leather and footwear products from Uzbekistan to Russia increased by 61% and reached $82,5 million in 2022. And next year, the association predicts an increase in exports of these products to Russia to $135 million. Such figures were voiced during the Uzbek-Russian business forum, which was held on December 1-2 in Samarkand, the telegram channel UZCHARM News reports.
Also, according to the Uzcharmsanoat association, today Uzbekistan supplies 1,4 million pairs of shoes and 1,2 million blanks for the production of shoes per year to the Russian market. Outsourcing orders are placed at Uzbek enterprises by such Russian companies as Paris Commune, Kotofey, MakFine, Zenden Group and others.
At the forum, plans were announced to increase economic cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan, including in the leather and footwear industry, where in the period 2022-2024. it is planned to implement investment projects for a total of $11 million.
