The S-Tep shoe factory, part of the OR Group (formerly Obuv Rossii), is negotiating a peace agreement with its key creditor, ChOP Brest Plus, and thus can avoid bankruptcy, TASS reports.
The fact that the company “the debtor is negotiating with its applicant on the conclusion of a settlement agreement,” the factory representative said during the first court hearing in the bankruptcy case.
The factory's bankruptcy hearing was postponed until December 23 due to creditors' appeals filed to correct an error in the filing deadline by the plaintiff.
The authorities of the region expect to restart production at the S-Tep factory in Berdsk, which specializes in tailoring special-purpose footwear, due to the growing demand for such footwear, in particular army boots, berets for the needs of a special military operation.
Production at the factory has been stopped since August 1 by OR Group, in order to optimize costs. About October, the process of bankruptcy of the group's enterprises began.
