Fashion Consulting Group: Sales of clothes and shoes will fall by 15-20%
Co-founder and commercial director of Fashion Consulting Group Anush Gasparyan predicts a drop in sales of clothing and footwear in monetary terms by 15-20% by the end of 2022. In physical terms, sales will fall by 25-30%, with prices rising by 30%.
The expert made such a forecast at the Russian Retail Week 2022. First of all, the decline in sales will be the result of a drop in the income of the population, Anush Gasparyan believes. We should also expect the growth of the lower price segment. According to the Fashion Consulting Group, in recent years, the lower price segment has shown steady growth: in 2014, its share was 50%, in 2022 it has already reached 72%. And the share of the middle price segment decreased from 40% to 20%, the share of the upper price segment decreased from 10% to 8%.
