Ferragamo has revisited its signature "Vara" bow in a global campaign.

Salvatore Ferragamo has launched a campaign dedicated to his signature shoe design detail – the Vara bow.

In 1978, Fiamma Ferragamo retained the grosgrain ribbon bow on the prototype of the pump. The shoes, with their rounded toes, small heels, and small ribbon, became part of the Salvatore Ferragamo fashion house's identity.

Last week, Ferragamo returned to its signature look. The Vara bow, a fixture of the house for nearly 50 years, became the central theme of its new campaign.

What began in 1978 as a practical shoe with a ribbon plucked from a pile of scraps in the atelier has now become a symbol of Ferragamo itself. By making the bow the center of attention rather than reinterpreting it, the house positions the Vara not as a relic, but as a living code that continues to shape the brand's wardrobe and identity nearly 50 years later.
